CMTA is performing an Energy Savings construction contract for Queens University of Charlotte for 19 facilities, over 608,635 square feet. Work is being conducted during unoccupied periods to minimize disruptions for students and staff.
The overall project scope includes:
- Expansion of existing building automation system controls to accommodate and support new equipment and systems being installed for 13 facilities
- New gas domestic water heater installation for 5 facilities
- New gas hot water boiler installation for 8 facilities
- Air handling unit replacements for 4 facilities, rooftop unit replacement for 1 facility and makeup air unit replacement for 1 facility
- New split system heat pump installation for 2 facilities and new heat pump VRF system for 1 facility
- New chiller installation for Belk Chapel
- New electric heaters for 2 facilities
- Repair of roof-mounted solar photovoltaic system for Albright Residence Hall
- Lighting replaced with LEDs in McEwan Hall
- Demolition of existing central steam plant building
