CMTA's Joe Waldron Makes Top 20 Under 40 List

CMTA’s Joe Waldron, PE, was recently named one of the Top 20 Under 40 Plumbing Professionals by Plumbing & Mechanical Engineer Magazine. Each year, 20 outstanding plumbing engineering professionals under the age of 40 are recognized for their exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and significant contributions to the industry. These individuals are tackling current challenges while also shaping the future of the built environment.

With nearly six years of industry experience, Joe brings an innovative and energy-efficient focus to every project. His recent design work includes expanding Centra Health’s Lynchburg Campus with a 200,000 SF addition; modernizing DC Public School’s Truesdell Elementary to achieve net zero energy, LEED Gold, and WELL Gold certifications; and comprehensively renovating Fairfax County Community Center, focusing on historic preservation and adaptive reuse.

Joe enjoys overcoming challenges by exploring various design approaches and pushing the barrier for energy and water conservation. His dedication not only aims to exceed client expectations but also seeks to create a lasting, positive impact on the communities those facilities serve. In an interview with Plumbing & Mechanical Engineer Magazine, he stated: “I am motivated by the fact that the designs I work on will be constructed and utilized by [our] clients—from new education spaces that focus on STEM industries to healthcare facilities that are achieving new energy goals in their industries. One of the proudest moments in my career so far has been seeing some of my healthcare projects complete construction and open to serve their communities.”
