CMTA, a Legence company, is excited to announce its merger with OCI Associates, Inc., the latest addition to Legence’s portfolio of companies. Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, OCI Associates is a full-service MEP engineering firm known for its coastal expertise and sustainable design solutions. United by our shared visions, values, and services, this integration benefits both firms by expanding our geographic reach while ensuring our clients continue to enjoy the innovative, energy-efficient solutions that are the hallmark of our companies.
As the third-largest MEP firm in Florida, OCI brings a new depth of engineering services to CMTA, expanding our capacity to serve the Florida market with the addition of five new offices. The merger not only underscores the growing significance of Florida’s commercial real estate landscape on a national scale but also highlights its influential position at the forefront of the sustainable energy transition.
OCI also maintains offices in Washington, DC, Dallas, TX, and San Francisco, CA, which will add to CMTA’s existing presence in these locations and expand our engineering capacity nationwide.
Not only are the OCI team members increasing CMTA’s engineering strength across the nation, but they also bring a portfolio of high-performing projects within similar markets, including K-12, higher education, government, and aviation.
“OCI’s mission has always been about building better spaces more efficiently to empower the people who need them, and joining the [CMTA] team will only increase our impact,” said Amir Kazeminia, President of OCI Associates. “Together, we will drive new opportunities for emissions reductions, helping ensure that Florida’s built environment is one of the safest, healthiest, and most sustainable in the country.”
Combined, the companies will have over 900 employees in 44 offices nationwide. With a focus on brand and operational integration in early 2024 with a goal to be fully operating as CMTA by 2025, the firm will continue to deliver cutting-edge, sustainable solutions that prioritize energy efficiency, decarbonization, occupant health and wellness, and resiliency in the built environment.
"From the beginning, we felt that OCI Associates was uniquely aligned with CMTA’s culture and values, and we are excited to have all the OCI staff on board for the next chapter of success of our companies,” said CMTA President Jimmy Benson. “Together our teams will bring CMTA’s brand of highly sustainable, energy-efficient building engineering to the Florida market and beyond to make a real difference in the built community."
