Performance Contracting
CMTA implemented energy conservation measures for four facilities in the performance contracting project for this rural school district, located in Ridgeland, South Carolina. All work was completed after hours or during unoccupied periods to minimize disruptions for students and staff.
55 kilowatts of new roof-mounted solar photovoltaic panels were installed on the roofs of the Jasper County District Office and Jasper County Alternative Program. The District’s solar panel energy dashboard demonstrates that so far these panels have created power savings equal to 179,136 lbs. of carbon dioxide emissions, the equivalent of planting 1,353 trees.
For Hardeeville Elementary School and Ridgeland Elementary School, renovations ranged from 64 rooftop HVAC unit replacements and HVAC controls retro-commissioning to low flow plumbing fixture upgrades.
All 4 facilities received new LED lighting throughout, including new site lighting that eliminated leased utility lighting and saved the district over $58,000 per year alone. All 4 facilities also underwent domestic water plumbing upgrades.
