This project was a Guaranteed Energy Savings Contract that included 5 buildings for Powell County Schools, located in Stanton, Kentucky. CMTA was brought in as a strategic partner with Sherman Carter Barnhart Architects to fund a portion of this renovation through energy saving upgrades performed throughout the district. These upgrades encompassed over 300,000 square feet. The project was funded 100% from energy and operational savings. Project highlights include:
Geothermal HVAC renovation for Powell County Middle School
5 buildings received new DDC controls
Lighting upgrades across the district included LED retrofits, new fixtures, and occupancy sensors
District-wide water efficiency low flow plumbing upgrades
Powell County Schools Energy Use
This is the first Guaranteed Energy Performance Contract the Powell County School District has successfully completed. While it's been a learning experience for all involved, CMTA has assisted us every step of the way. When I contact CMTA representatives, they respond efficiently and effectively.

It has been a great and pleasurable experience. CMTA has exceeded any and all expectations. Yes, there are other energy savings companies that are comparable to CMTA, but I honestly and sincerely feel CMTA goes above and beyond what is expected. They deliver!
Everything they said they were going to do, CMTA has done and I couldn’t be more proud to work with this company. They do what they say they are going to, they follow through… and 3 years later we have great results.
I take great pleasure in acknowledging the excellent work and professionalism modeled by CMTA while completing the Energy Savings projects for Wood County Schools.
