As part of a Guaranteed Energy Savings Contract with Shepherd University, CMTA completed renovations at 7 facilities encompassing 279,718 square feet. Located in West Virginia, the project included significant HVAC system upgrades across four buildings during the second phase of the contract.
The phase 2 scope includes the following:
Byrd Science Center
- Removal of 3 air cooled chillers, boilers, air handling units (AHUs), fume hood exhaust fans, chilled water pumps and hot water pumps
- Installation of 3 new high efficiency propane fired condensing boilers and 2 new hot water pumps
- Installation of 2 new air cooled chillers and 2 new chilled water pumps
- Installation of 3 new AHUs and 26 new fume hood exhaust fans and general exhaust fans, and replacement of hot water radiators
- Installation of new DDC controls with sequence of operations implemented
Student Center
- Removal of chiller, chilled water pump, hot water pumps, air handling units
- Installation of new water source heat pumps, HDPE piping, and fluid cooler
- Installation of new DDC controls with sequence of operations implemented
Dining Hall
- Removal of steam boilers, heat exchangers, inline pumps and domestic hot water storage tank
- Installation of new propane fired condensing boiler, 4 new propane instantaneous water heaters and 2 new inline pumps
- Installation of BAS controls for new boiler plant and other HVAC items
Wellness Center
- Replacement of 2 rooftop PoolPak units with 2 new rooftop dehumidification units, and replacement of 2 heat recovery pumps in pool mechanical room
- Installation of BAS controls for pool HVAC items
- Removal of chiller and chilled water pump and installation of 2 new chilled water pumps for White Hall
- Removal of water heaters and installation of new domestic water heaters for Boone Field House
- Controls upgrade for Boone Field House, Ikenberry Hall, and Stutzman Slonaker Hall
- LED lighting retrofits and replacements
